ZocDoc Gets New Funds for Expansion

ZocDoc announced a $15 million Series B funding round this morning. According to the release, “The round was led by Founders Fund; Khosla Ventures, which led ZocDoc’s Series A funding, participates in the round. The Series B funding will help ZocDoc expand its network of practitioners and accelerate its nationwide growth.”

A kind of OpenTable for medical, company provides reviews and online appointments for doctors and dentists. It began in New York and is now in four US markets: New York, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Chicago.

The company says that it offers more than “1 million available appointments across 20 specialties.”

In the wake of healthcare reform ZocDoc, as well as competitor InsiderPages (now substantially focused on medical and dental), are poised to benefit. My memory and understanding is that ZocDoc uses a CPA model based on actual bookings.
