Last year’s Local Social Summit event in London was a great success. Intellectually it was a really interesting event to participate in and attend. Highlights for me were Perry Evans’ talk about Groupon, my discussion with Yell’s Mark Canon (the Mark Canon part) and the SMB panel, where I had a revelation of sorts. But it was all interesting.
LSS hosted an event for Social Media Week that I didn’t attend but I understand was also a success.
The 2011 LSS won’t happen until November but it will be larger and probably feature a second day. There was a really packed schedule in 2010.
This is something to put on your radar and calendars for later this year because it’s got a more interesting mix of attendees and conversations than most of the local events happening out there.
The formal organizers are Dylan Fuller and Simon Baptist in London, though Seb Provencher and I have been very involved for the past two years. Dylan and Simon are just starting to think about this year and sponsors. It’s a great event to sponsor if you’re at a company that’s in the local/mobile/social space. Attendance is limited and this year’s event will sell out quickly I’m sure.
If you want to talk to Simon or Dylan about being a sponsor, you can reach them at simonbaptist [at] gmail.com or dylanfuller [at] gmail.com
